CEO of WZR Develpment ULC
Mr. Simon Hatfield is the Chief Executive Officer of WZR Development ULC (WesternZagros). He has over 40 years of experience in the international and domestic petroleum industry and has held technical, managerial and executive positions with Imperial Oil, Exxon Production Research Company, Petro-Canada, Chauvco Resources, Talisman Energy and Western Oil Sands.
Mr. Hatfield has conducted business throughout the Americas, North and West Africa, the Middle East and South East Asia, and has extensive experience in Iraq since 1995. He was the catalyst for the formation of WesternZagros and led the technical and business process which led to the signing and ratification of the Company’s Production Sharing Contracts.
Mr. Hatfield holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Geology with Physics and a Master of Science degree in Geology. He has completed the Executive Development Program at the University of Calgary and is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors.
Managing Director Exploration at WZR Development ULC
Mr. Ke Lovan is the Managing Director Exploration at WZR Development ULC (WesternZagros). He brings over 20 years of domestic and international oil and gas experience that includes technical and managerial positions with Goodwell Petroleum, GEDCO, Paradigm Geophysical Corp., Sproule International Limited and Western Oil Sands.
Mr. Lovan’s expertise includes structural and stratigraphic plays in carbonate and clastic environments and advanced 3D interpretation, visualization, modeling, seismic characterization and geostatistical analysis. He played a crucial role in the discovery of oil and gas resources in excess of 700 MMBOE recoverable on WesternZagros’s two blocks in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
Mr. Lovan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geophysics from the University of Calgary and is a member of APEGGA, CSEG, SEG, AAPG, and EAGE.
